Forklift accidents, prosecutions and fines 2018

forklift accidents The really good news is that fatal accidents involving forklift trucks in the United Kingdom have decreased over time. In the year to April 2013 there were only six fatal accidents which, although too many, is much lower than the 30 annual deaths that were reported annually when I started in the forklift industry in 1970.

Some of the more recent forklift accidents that have come to my attention are listed below and I will update these on an ongoing basis. Older forklift accidents can be viewed via the links on the left.

March 28th 2018. Bellway Homes Ltd and A D Bly Construction Ltd have today been fined after a worker was struck by a telehandler. Read More

March 22nd 2018. A plastic product manufacturer has been fined £1 million after a delivery driver was fatally injured when he was struck by a fork lift truck which had large coils suspended from the forks. Read More

February 13th 2018. A Stockton-based waste recycling company has today been fined after a worker was injured following a workplace transport accident in September 2016. More

January 30th 2018. An engineering company has been fined after a worker lost his leg from the knee down when he was hit by a forklift truck. More

January 17th 2018. A recycling firm has been fined £666,000 after a worker suffered life threatening head injuries in a telehandler accident. More
